Metaverse Committee
initiated by Meta

What is the Metaverse Committee?

Poland’s metaverse market could grow to a value of between EUR 5 billion and EUR 10 billion by 2035. The Metaverse Committee, an initiative led by Meta (formerly Facebook), was established within the Digital Poland Association (Związek Cyfrowa Polska). It brings together a broad group of experts representing key technology companies, institutions, creative sectors, and the academic world. Meta, as the main initiator of this effort, plays a crucial role in driving the development of metaverse-related transformations.

At Connected Realities, we are deeply committed to initiatives prioritizing digital transformation toward the metaverse within enterprises. As such, Andrzej Horoch accepted the nomination to become the chair of the committee. Under his leadership, the committee members prepared recommendations in the form of a report, highlighting the economic and social potential of the metaverse for Poland. This report serves as a call to action, encouraging coordinated and in-depth efforts toward creating a national metaverse strategy. We are also excited to announce that Jagna Pomorska has joined the committee of experts.

Invitation to read the report “A New Era of Digital Development – The Metaverse for Poland”

Dear Sir/Madam,
We are witnessing an unprecedented development of innovation and rapid technological progress, and the uniqueness of this time lies in the blurring boundaries between reality and the digital world. Technologies such as artificial intelligence, the metaverse, and blockchain are revolutionizing the way we work, learn, communicate, and engage in social interactions.

This revolutionary phase of digital transformation opens up many new opportunities for us. Expert estimates indicate that technologies related to AI and the metaverse carry enormous potential for the economic and scientific development of our country, and thus for the businesses and universities operating here. Poland must do everything possible to seize this opportunity.

Efforts in this direction will require significant commitment and determination from both the government and business, as the emerging opportunities come with unprecedented challenges. One attempt to respond to these challenges is the creation of the Metaverse Committee. Discussions among the experts of the Committee lead us to the clear conclusion that dialogue and cooperation between the public and private sectors is the best way to safeguard the interests of the state and its citizens.

We present a report summarizing the Committee’s activities, containing many current observations, conclusions, and recommendations. We hope they will help us seize the opportunities and protect against potential threats. The document also encourages all interested parties and institutions to engage in coordinated and in-depth work on a national metaverse strategy.

We invite you to read the report and join the discussion about our shared future.

The “New Era of Digital Development – The Metaverse for Poland” report estimates that AI and metaverse-related technologies carry immense potential for economic and scientific development. We should do everything possible to seize this opportunity. We present a report summarizing the activities of the Metaverse Committee, containing many current observations, conclusions, and recommendations regarding the use of virtual technologies in business, culture, and education. They will help to capitalize on emerging opportunities and avoid potential threats. The document is also an invitation for all interested individuals and institutions to engage in coordinated and in-depth work on a national metaverse strategy.

This report—authored by Meta—offers a grounded interpretation of this economic potential in the EU. It conceptualises the defining elements that will determine the nature and adoption of this nascent technology with national case studies. At first glance, these calculations by Meta may seem unconventional. While forecasts on internet technologies tend to prompt wild speculation, Meta’s report works from conservative assumptions based on growth generated from current ICT investments. In addition, Meta’s report distinguishes between different Member States for the first time.
